Embarrassing Moments

You know how sometimes you do something and you are so embarrassed to even recall that incident? This morning at a professional networking breakfast, I spotted a Stink Bug flying around the ceiling. Trying to keep calm, I think, okay stinky bug, if you stay where you are we can actually go through the whole meeting with you being there. As the meeting was ending, I heard a Buzz noise and next thing I know is something hits my head from behind and drops right in front of me. Okay, so I did scream and I did push away. Someone at my table said, Newsha they can't eat much don't worry. I had no intention in flipping the bug away, so John sitting next to me did so. The meeting ended 10 seconds after. That 10 seconds lasted like 10 years for me. And yes, I did look through my Jacket, purse and notebook to make sure I am not carrying any stink bug right after the meeting. All the guys shaking their head and saying they are disappointed. Well, guess what I am a girl and I sure can scream!

Smart Kiddo


There are some qualities that I really appreciate in kids and am fascinated by it. One of them is  "thinking outside the box", they just do it naturally. I guess as kids you have the natural ability to think outside the box and be creative. As you grow older, you learn more and you are aware of more things, might be overwhelmed and suddenly you have to take classes to remember how to be creative.

Last night as I came back home from GYM my neighbor's kids where playing infront of our house. They are my favorite kids. So as Meghan and Bradley gave me hugs (I had to beg Bradley for one!) they asked me if they could come over to our house. So I let them in, put their show on and put their favorite couch infront of the TV to watch and talk with me while I was preparing food in the kitchen. I looked over and I saw only four feet dangling happily from the couch, so I felt good. As I was texting their mom to let her know they were with me, I heard :"Newsha Look!". I found Bradley standing above our couch on the edge and the metal table was right underneath!

Me: "Bradley, buddy, come down you are going to hurt yourself!"

Brad:" No I am not falling. Look. Look."

Oh God, I knew if I put a step toward him he would jump off!

Meghan : "Bradley, Come down Now! If you break Ms. Newsha's chair she will be mad and we can never play here again!"

Bradley's eyes were wide open watching me!

Me:" Well I can always replace a broken chair, but if Bradley breaks his head we cannot buy him a new one and that won't be fun!"

Bradley was hesitant for a minute and almost climbed down. Then he had an idea:

"mmmmm .... AHA! I can wear my hat and then jump!"

The King's Speech

I finally watched The King's Speech. I absolutely adore that movie, one of my favorite movies of all time. This is one of my challenges as well, public speaking scares me. I don't studder, but I do forget all the words and I run out of vocabulary. I start sweating and then I start talking Farsi.



The message and the story of King's Speech took my breath away. Specially the scene of the rehearsal. Berti's frustration and Lionel's passion and patience were so powerful.




I knew what Berti was going through and it felt so real and painful.

I think this is one of Eminem's best songs. The lyrics and his voice give me goose bumps every time this song plays.

Books

I want to recommend 3 books that I absolutely love!

First comes "Room" by Emma Donoghue



This book opens your eyes to the world. It certainly changes your perspective on life. Now, I am not saying that it is a Self-Improve type of a read. It is a novel. I hope Fiction. It is said from the point of view of a 5 year old. You will learn about his world as you go and he will learn with you. I love this book and me and Bobby we still use some of the lines of this book.

Second is "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls

You might have heard that this book is a sad read! Well it is, but it is well worth your sadness. She is an amazing author and this book will be with you where ever you go until you finish!

Last is "The Help" by Kathrine Stockett



You must read and must watch the movie!  I would even recommend watching before reading! You know how they say if you read the book first the movie is never good enough. Well that would be one reason and the other one is the fact that the movie gives you a great picture of what people look like. I just finished the book and I didn't want it to be done! I double checked the page numbers in case I am missing something.

Fun Fun

Now how fun is it ... um to type with a band aid on your finger and getting it stuck to your keyboard every time?

hmm. well that wasn't why I came all the way here to say! I found a fabulous Tab on my blog that I can see the Status of my blog being viewed! Now the fun part is that I can see how many visited from which link. If you think that sounds boring, then listen to this: I can see how many people visited from each country and more than that how many times! I see Asa, Shima, people from Canada (might be Maral). I even have a visitor from Singapor!
